Module 11 feedback..

I dont really know what to think about this one..

While I love computers and all the wonderful things that they offer to people as a whole... I also am somewhat intimidated as to what they may someday become.  People are SO reliant on computers these days, especially in the more modernized places in the world.  Now that we are just baby steps away from true artificial intelligence, where does it go from there.  Who is going to really be in control of the business then?  I guess it's just something to get worried about, though.... who knows..

I do appreciate what computers have done for us in the way of science and math, though..  :)

Module 10 Reflection

So I try and stay on top of my credit and everything.  But this all is a lot to think about on a daily basis.  All the paper shredding and and anti-phishing software just seems like too much to have to worry about.   I suppose that's just something I'll have to get over.  This assignment has inspired me to check my credit again... last time I did was probably over a year ago now. I probably need to be more cautious, period.  These types of crimes are really picking up in the United States.

hmmm...

makes me feel less about the typical person in this country. :\

Module 6 Feedback..

I never thought about the appearance of a website affecting my opinion of that business before today.  Now I can assure you that it will always be in the back of my mind while browsing the internet from now on.  Fox News sure does have a jumbled mess of a site..  kinda makes me think THAT MUCH worse about the organization as a whole.  This is the Information Age, people...  Your website is very much an opinion-forming piece of your appeal. I will take heed....

Module 1 Refelction

In module 1, I was instructed to read and familiarize myself further with the different types of computers. With my given past, I had no problem grasping what each subset of computers is used for. I am in constant use of a Handheld Device and a Personal Computer and am relatively familiar with Servers. The only two catagories I have never had actual, hands-on experience with were Supercomputers and Mainframes. In my reading I learned that these two types of computers overlap in a few of the applications that they can be used in. Both are made for high-level and high-quantity calculations and storage of a large amount of data. It seems as though a Supercomputer is to a Mainframe as a Personal Computer is to a Handhelp device: Bigger, faster, and less portable. Mainframes, unfortunately, cannot handle some of the extremely high calculation-intense needs of weather forecasting, oil exploration, and digital animation. This is where the supercomputer excells.
